Indigenous Youth Services recognizes that each Indigenous youth is unique and has their own set of challenges that require personalized attention and care. With this in mind, we offer Youth Case Consulting, a specialized service that provides virtual or in-person consultations anywhere in the country for clients on your caseload with particularly challenging or complex needs.
Our team of experts, consisting of experienced professionals in the field of Indigenous youth mental health, meets with the youth, their family, and existing support structures to formulate a comprehensive assessment and catered support strategies that target the client's unique needs. We understand the importance of involving the client's family and support network in the assessment and support planning process to ensure that everyone is working together to achieve the best outcomes for the youth.
Our Youth Case Consulting service is designed to support individuals who require specialized care and attention that goes beyond what traditional support services can offer. We work closely with our clients and their families to develop a plan that is tailored to their specific needs and circumstances.
Our team of experts is equipped to support a wide range of behavioural and developmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, and depression. We use evidence-based practices and a youth-centered approach to ensure that our support strategies are effective and tailored to the youth's unique needs.
We are able to recruit and train local professionals to provide specialized catered In-Home or facility care matching the high-risk/complex needs of the client. These services bring critical support services to individuals, families, and communities that otherwise go without. Formulated with the mission of bringing high-risk support to those in need, keeping client's home, and families together.
Maintaining care team management and client care support for the duration of their care needs. Through the implementation of weekly virtual check-ins, emergency consultations, and 24/7 access to the IYS support structures, we are able to connect the most rural communities with the most elite support resources. Partnered agencies receive access to the full network of IYS Support and benefit from unmatched motivation for generating improvement within Indigenous communities.
Indigenous Youth Services is committed to improving the quality of care provided to Indigenous youth across various child care agencies. We understand that cultural responsiveness is essential in providing effective care to Indigenous youth and that a lack of understanding or respect for Indigenous culture can have negative impacts on their mental health and overall well-being.
To address this issue, we offer our Agency Consulting program, which provides education and training to child care agencies on understanding and respecting Indigenous culture. Our program is designed to promote cultural responsiveness and to support agencies in providing care that is respectful, compassionate, and effective.
Our team of experts works closely with child care agencies to assess their current level of cultural competency and develop tailored training programs to address any gaps in knowledge or understanding. We provide guidance on evidence-based practices for working with Indigenous youth and their families, including strategies for building relationships, communicating effectively, and incorporating cultural practices into care plans.
Our Agency Consulting program emphasizes the importance of involving Indigenous communities and Elders in the care of Indigenous youth. We work closely with agencies to develop partnerships with Indigenous communities and to build relationships with Elders who can provide valuable insights and guidance on cultural practices and customs.
By providing education and training on cultural responsiveness, our Agency Consulting program is helping child care agencies to better understand and respect Indigenous culture. This is critical in ensuring that Indigenous youth receive the care and support they need to thrive. We are proud to be at the forefront of this essential work and remain committed to improving the quality of care provided to Indigenous youth across the country.
